3 Unknown Places in Goa That You Must Visit

Everyone knows about Baga beach, Tito’s street, Calangute beach, Fort Aguada, Anjuna beach, and Dudhsagar falls in Goa. These are the must-visit and most visited places in Goa. Anyone who goes to Goa firstly visits these and other equally popular places that are part of their Goa holiday packages. These places are always crowded with people. This leaves many places in Goa that are less frequently visited and are equally fantastic as popular places. When you visit Goa, here are some additional places you can visit besides popular places:

      1.     Cumbarjua Canal

The place is hidden and not visited by many because it is difficult to find. It is surrounded by dense tropics and water bodies. To reach there, you will have to take a ferry from the Cortalim jetty, and reach Cumbarjua Canal via the Zuari River. On your ride, you will gaze upon the expansive mangroves and a variety of beautiful and exotic birds. It will take about 3 hours to fully explore the place, but you will cherish every minute of yours.

      2.     The Bubbling Lake of Netravali

This is not exactly a lake, but a pond, and a man-made one at that, in the village of Netravali. Its steps have beautiful architecture made with granite rocks. It gets the name of Bubbling Lake because of the mysterious reasons which lead to the formation of bubbles on the surface. This is a good place to visit, especially if you have children with you. Even if you don’t, it’s calming to sit on the shore and enjoy the formation of bubbles.

      3.     Sinquerim Fort

This is a majestic fort overlooking the beautiful Sinquerim beach. Hidden in the wilderness of Goa, the history of the place is slightly debatable. Built in 1612, some say, it was an anchor for the trading ships, while others say, it was a fort built to guard against the attacks of the Marathas and the Dutch. Either way, a place whose sheer strength and beauty will make your time spent there worthwhile.

Goa is a place that once you visit, you will never want to go back. There are endless places to visit there – popular and not-so-popular, both. One thing is for sure that you will return home with memories you will cherish for life.
